SPIRAL DROPS
This 'Spiral Drops' neck adornment is one of those creations who's meaning I didn't understand until I brought it to life.
I've just had that vision and the inevitable urge to translate it into reality.
And so I did.
When it was finished, it somehow made me think of the sea. I didn't know yet why, it was 'just a feeling'.
The following day we drove to the sea.
Listened to the waves for a few days.
When suddenly so many words were bubbling up to the surface of my mind, flowing and carrying the unstoppable need to write them down.
It was only a few hours later when I realized that the Spiral Drops creation has been my way of expressing the exact same thing, before words could.
"Can you feel it?
The waves. The wind. The salt in the air.
The raindrops on your face.
The sand in your hair.
How everything moves.
Everything flows. Nothing stands still.
How the waves are unpredictable,
powerful. They take you in.
They take your thoughts
and swirl them around
until there's nothing left but love.
Love for this life we get to live.
For this planet we get to experience.
For the freedom we get to taste.
For every sunrise we get to see, every moment we get to breathe."
It's like the spiral knotted cords represent your thoughts swirled around by the waves, until there's nothing left but love .. and they're moving freely, becoming one with the wild wild and with the movements of your body, connecting everything..
'Spiral Drops' is made of cotton, hemp, stainless steel and brass.
